CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING ROUTES
The backbone, 71 km long "Krkonoše highway" runs through the entire mountain range, directly from Žacléř to Harrachov. It is then followed by other cross-country trails with extraordinary views of the panorama of the highest Czech mountains. They will take you to beautiful places, often less frequented and therefore not yet discovered, where you can breathe in the fresh frosty air and enjoy white romance. You can also use some of the race tracks and running circuits for training and a pleasant ride. Ride the white track! There are more than 600 km of cross-country trails in the Krkonoše Mountains, regularly groomed and inviting to ride.
At the hotel, you put on your cross-country skis and you can go ice-skating or classic climbing along the ridge path towards Rýhorská chalet, up to 1000 m above sea level. Above "Boberská stráň" towards the north and east, you will be stopped by the view across the border with Poland to the Bukowka dam reservoir. In the saddle called Vízov towards the south, towards Trutnov, the valley of the Rýchory settlement winds. Another climb to Polz's cross awaits you, but the reward is worth it. The first thing that opens up is the view to the east over the Králové sedlo to the Vraní hory and further to the Broumovské stěny, behind the Braunová cottage, then a view to the west of the beautiful panorama of Studniční hora, Sněžka and Soví hory. Below you is Suché údolí and to the right Albeřice. Behind the corral directly opposite you are waiting for a treat fully covered horned "monsters", Scottish highland cattle are bred here all year round. It's a short walk to Rýchorská chalet, where you can have a cup of tea or a beer. Those who have planned a longer hike will turn off at Polz's cross and follow the Krkonoše highway to Pomezní chalet. For true romantics, who don't mind only a well-trodden footprint, I recommend the Rýhorský pralesem circuit. Bizarre trees covered in snow and ice, blankets of powder, complete silence, only you and magical nature, a one hundred percent cure for a stressed soul.
