Cross-country skiing trails
The entire mountain range, directly from Žacléř to Harrachov, is crossed by the backbone, 71 km long Krkonoše Ski Route. It is followed by other cross-country skiing trails with extraordinary views of the panorama of the highest Czech mountains. They will take you to beautiful places, often less frequented and therefore not yet discovered, where you will breathe in the fresh frosty air and enjoy the white romance. You can also use some of the race tracks and cross-country circuits for training and a pleasant ride. Take a ride on the white track! There are more than 600 km of cross-country skiing trails in the Giant Mountains, regularly groomed and inviting to ride.
Put on your cross-country skis at the hotel and start skating or a classic climb along the ridge towards Rýchorská bouda, 1000 m above sea level. Above the Boberská hillside to the north and east, you will be stopped by the view across the border with Poland to the Bukowka dam. In the saddle called Vízov, towards the south, towards Trutnov, the valley of the Rýchory settlement winds. There is a further climb to Polzów Cross, but the reward is worth it. First, the view opens up to the east across the Královecké sedlo to the Vraní Mountains and on to the Broumovské Siennés, and beyond Braun's cottage, the view to the west to the beautiful panorama of Studniční hora, Sněžka and Svorá hora. Below you is the Suché Valley and to the right is Alberice. Behind the fence directly opposite you there are horned "beasts" waiting for a treat, Scottish Highland cattle are kept here all year round. It's a short walk to Rýchorská bouda, where you can have a cup of tea or a beer. Those who have planned a longer hike, turn off at Polzova kříž and follow the Krkonoše Highway to Pomezní boudy. For the real romantics who don't mind just a beaten track, I recommend the Rýchorský prales circuit. Bizarre trees covered with snow and ice, blankets of powder, complete silence, just you and magical nature, a 100% cure for a stressed soul.
